Shortly after you get your acceptance letter from your university, it is time to apply for a Chinese student visa and Residence permit. Your Chinese student visa will be handled by MilGEC. A Residence Permit can be applied once you arrive in China. Note that as an international student, you have 30 days after your arrival in China to apply for a residence permit that will enable you to study in China without any obstacles. The application for the residence permit should be submitted to the division of exit-entry administration of the local public security bureau.

Before you apply for a Residence Permit, please make sure you have accomplished the steps when you arrive in China as described in https://milgec.co.id/step-to-study-in-china

The requirements for applying a Residence Permit are :

• SIM Card Number (China)
• Medical Check-up result
• letter from local public police or security bureau
• A valid passport which should have at least six months of remaining validity

Your university will help you to coordinate and apply for a Residence Permit. Please ask the Person In Charge from the University for the dateline to submit the required documents and the schedule of interview. You will need to give your passport either to the university Person in Charge or bring it with you when you attend the interview session.

Make sure you attend the interview session and do not late. You will have to pay around 400 RMB per year for the permit application.

It will takes around 7 -14 days until it accomplish. Your Residence Permit will be placed inside your passport and it will be return back to you
